Our Packaging
Gift Bags: Instead of creating gift boxes that go to waste, we asked the owner of the Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills in Kolcata, India (our key supply source of organic bed and bath products) to take the remnants of our organic cotton sheets and make them into reusable eco gift bags.* By paying an extra dollar for every gift bag, we've been able to create a scholarship program for the daughters of the mill. We are proud to say that this year more than 300 girls will attend school and receive a healthy meal every day.
*Our reusable gift bags are offered as a courtesy to our customers on select goods only. Products that do not fit or that must ship in specialized packaging (e.g. flowers) will not ship with this bag.
 
Shipping Boxes: Our packaging is made from recycled and recyclable materials, speaking to your sense of care and commitment to the environment. The boxes are printed with water based ink, which is naturally non-toxic and low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Our industry-leading design sets a new standard by ensuring that your flowers remain well protected in transit while having a minimal impact on the Earth.
PLA, Biodegradable Sleeves: We are currently in the process of converting all of our bouquet sleeves and other plastic bags to biodegradable PLA, an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastic sleeves. PLA (Polyactide) originates from field corn, a 100% renewable resource. Peer-reviewed and published life-cycle analysis (LCA) date shows that PLA requires less fossil fuel resources, emits less carbon dioxide by using renewable resources as a feedstock and is the world's first greenhouse-gas-neutral polymer. We are also pleased to announce that we have found one of the first sources of non-GMO corn for use in PLA and will be using it for all future production of sleeves and gift wrap.
 Alternative Hydration Methods:While most traditional florists use a number of plastic water tubes to keep each individual flower stem hydrated during transportation, Organic Style uses a single sponge-like encasing for each bouquet, creating significantly less waste than their plastic vial counterparts. In addition, Arrive Alive ® wraps are biodegradable, and thus earth-friendly all around!
 Gift Cards and Inserts: All of our inserts and gift cards are printed on recycled or recyclable materials using soy based inks. Soy ink comes from a renewable resource, soybeans. Usage of soy ink reduces the amount of air pollution released during printing as soy is naturally low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds). It also degrades four times more completely than standard petroleum inks, making the recycling process more efficient.
100% Recycled Glass Vase:Like our flowers, our best-selling tinted glass vase arrives with a green pedigree – it is made from 100% recycled glass. We find this simple, classic vase foolproof since it makes any bouquet look artfully arranged.
