The Nature Conservancy and Organic Bouquet Partner to Save the Earth

San Francisco (December 11, 2006) – The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organization, has partnered with Organic Bouquet, Inc. www.OrganicBouquet.com, the world's first online eco-florist, to raise funds to protect ecologically important lands and waters around the world.

Organic Bouquet will donate five percent of sales from its new "Nature Conservancy Bouquet"—twenty California-grown Dutch tulips that are Veriflora eco-certified—created especially to support the work of The Nature Conservancy. The bouquet will retail for $59.95 (plus tax and shipping), and is available from the Charitable Bouquet collection at http://www.OrganicBouquet.com/charity. In addition, Organic Bouquet will donate 10 percent of each purchase made at http://www.OrganicBouquet.com/nature.

"We are thrilled to have Organic Bouquet's support in our efforts to conserve the natural systems upon which all life depends," said Steven McCormick, President and CEO of The Nature Conservancy. "The partnership is a powerful example of the importance of working together to build a conservation ethic and protect the Earth's lands and waters for people and nature."

Founded in 1951, The Nature Conservancy—which boasts more than 1 million members and operations in all 50 states and more than 30 countries—has protected over 117 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of river around the world. The organization collaborates worldwide with public and nonprofit partners, corporations, indigenous people and traditional communities to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth.

"We are proud to support The Nature Conservancy's efforts to protect the most ecologically important lands and waters around the world," said Gerald Prolman, CEO of Organic Bouquet. "The mission of The Nature Conservancy conveys the very sustainable production methods by which our flowers are grown."

Organic Bouquet has pioneered the eco-flower market, working with growers around the world who are committed to the highest social and environmental standards. Flowers are grown and harvested using practices that aim to improve the quality of farm working conditions, minimize damage to ecosystems, conserve biodiversity, and enhance environmental quality for future generations.

In the last two years, Organic Bouquet's charitable initiatives have resulted in nearly $200,000 in donations to more than 30 non-profit organizations—from the American Red Cross and Co-Op America to PETA, Mercy Corps and the National Wildlife Federation.

About Organic Bouquet: Organic Bouquet (www.OrganicBouquet.com), established in 2001, has pioneered the organic flower market. As a leading voice in the organic movement, it is raising public awareness of critical environmental issues, using sustainably grown flowers as a catalyst for change. www.OrganicBouquet.com
